Pepsi Holiday Spice Company: Pepsi Cola Years: 2004/2006 *takes a sip* "What was that........ugh.....WHAT.....WAS......THAT??!??!??! *spits angrily* I said get me a Pepsi, Carl...........wait, what the hell is this? Pepsi Holiday Spice?? What in the name of all that is holy is this crap??? *takes another, smaller sip* *spits angrily again* EWW -UCH! Carl, I understand that you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed, but when I want a Pepsi, get me a damn Pepsi, not this.....Holiday......what it is......Holday Spice shit. From the Snack Aisle: doo-dads

Company: Nabisco Years: Late 60's-90's   Image from Jason Liebig Another great Nabisco Snack Mix that people seem to fondly remember is doo dads. It was a snack made up of 5 different parts: Toasted peanuts, pretzels, rice squares, wheat squares and cheese Tid-Bit Crackers (which were so popular you could buy Tid-Bits by themselves). I know it sounds like Chex Mix, but as it turns out, it was nothing even close, so much that if you even compare them to an avid doo-dad lover you will get beaten. They are nothing alike. doo dads are 100X better (or so I've been told). Once a snack staple starting in the late 60s, they really became a childhood favorite of everyone in the 70's/80's. In the 90's, as sales stared to slip due to the influx of chips/crackers/snacks that were in the market, doo dads tried out some new flavors hoping to bring them back to life, but the as the 90's came to a close so did doo dads. From the Candy Aisle: Forever Yours

"Forever Yours" Candy Bars Company: Mars Years - 1936-1979 (and beyond???) I enjoy browsing old Newspapers in my spare time, especially the Sunday papers where all the advertising took place. I often run across little known products that I had never known existed, and sometimes, I discover they've been under my nose the entire time (often just with a name change, sometimes wearing those fakey looking plastic glasses with the attached nose and mustache for added anonymity). Case in point: I ran across this ad in a mid 70's Milwaukee Journal: "Huh?" I said out loud. "Forever Yours?" How did I miss this one? Part of the reason, as it turns out, is that the Forever Yours bar was around for a long time (some 44 years), then disappeared from shelves when I was only 4, and at the time, my note taking skills were not quite up to par yet (as you can see).
